    MATCHUPS
Matchups were selected randomly via generator.

ARENA CHALLENGES: The rest of you who have not been matched up are presented with an ARENA CHALLENGE. Your entry must depict your character leaving the area of danger safely. You can have anything you want happen, near misses, short fights, falls, grabbing items, etc - you just must conclude with your character escaping! Two of your entries will be selected as the WEAKEST LINK and eliminated. So don't rest easy! This is almost as if you guys were in matchups yourselves, but you're facing the environment with individual prompts instead of each other. The ones eliminated will be least impressive/realistic/creative/impressive entry, so you have to make sure you work hard this round to make sure that's not you! You shouldn't be killing anyone if you're in the arena challenge pool - you haven't been matched up. Your entry is all about the nature of your getaway.

Whip Marchwalker - What seemed like a safe path to take has suddenly become a lot more foreboding as you notice the smoke start to rise. On all sides, the brush around you has begun to catch fire and soon you're surrounded by an intense inferno. Show us how you make it out safely.

Nami Sada - You've fallen right into a trap of hologram desert mirages. It's difficult to discern what's real from what's not and the twisting maze of images hits you from all sides. Be careful not to fall too deeply into this trap or you're likely not to find a way out of the heat and harsh reality of the arena. Show us how you handle these false images to make it out alive.

Tesla Grey - As you navigate the desert terrain, you find yourself fallen into a snake pit- perhaps the ground gives out on you, maybe you weren't looking where you were going- however you end up there, you find yourself surrounded by tons of deadly snakes. Show us how you deal with these deadly creatures and get out alive.

Argona Flintloch - You find yourself in a grove of cacti- harmless enough, right? Nope, as soon as you make your way in, they begin to violently explode- sending needles and debris all around you. Show us how you get out and to safety from the barrage of needles sent your way.

    HOW THIS WILL HAPPEN:
What do I do about allies? If you were matched up against someone who has an ally, you do not have to kill or even hurt their ally, or include them in any way - this is entirely up to you, though you may want to include allies or put some sort of explanation as to why they were not with your target for the sake of realism (it counts in the judging!). If you have an ally and were matched up against a single person, you may have your ally help you out with the kill to some degree, but your character must land the final killing blow. There are a lot of ally groups running around doing different things right now, feel free to co-ordinate a sequence of events amongst yourselves. You may share items with your allies! If your ally has an item you want to use, you can use it to kill an opponent provided your ally consents to it and you've asked the player. Can my character go back to Cornucopia and get some more items? There was a lot left over. If you are in a matchup, you may not return to the Cornucopia. Only those with Arena Challenges may make their way back to the Cornucopia, and if you do, you must put in your deviation description a clear list of what you took. A Cornucopia item might be helpful in completing your Arena Challenge, so plan accordingly - you can use sponsorship items to the same effect. You can have your character get items before or after their struggle with their assigned danger! Why didn't I get this item from the Cornucopia? There was probably an item conflict over it (two people trying to take one weapon), and we flipped a coin to decide who would receive the item. If you didn't get many useful items, don't despair. When you kill your assigned target, you are allowed to have your pick of the items they are carrying. So if you are lacking a rope, and the opponent you kill has one in their pack, feel free to take it. If we missed an item that you should have, send a note. Can I make allies, right now, in the Games? Can my Tribute bump into someone and they become allies? Only if you both agree on it, and be mindful of the whole 'realism' deal, and the fact there will be even less people next round and you may have to kill your ally or split up with them. Can I get some items using my Sponsorship Points? Yes, you are now allowed to get sponsorship items. Check the Sponsorship Guidelines page and note the club with the item you would like. Be very specific, and we'll get back to you on how much it will cost.
    IMPORTANT DETAILS:
Of course, just like last round, failure to submit an entry by the due date without asking for a reasonable extension will result in your character getting killed. Your opponent will be the default victor. There will be another plot summary posted at the end of Round 2 dictating a canon for who killed who, and how. You will have to keep this canon summary in mind for Round 3. There will be 8 Tributes eliminated this Round, 6 from Matchups and 2 from the Arena Challenge pool. Sponsorship will also be available starting now! As you can see, there is a running total on the front page of the club now, and I will be putting up a poll where you can vote for your favourite Tribute that will rotate every half week. Each vote earns you 0.20 points. So 5 votes will equal 1 point. Participating in Extra Challenges will earn you points as well - Extra Challenges will be posted in widgets on the main page as well, so KEEP CHECKING! Anyone can participate in EC's and chat events for points - any member of the club! Also attending Chat events will earn you sponsorship points! With last chat event, I gave 1 point to everyone who popped in for a minute and didn't participate in anything, and 2 points to everyone who came in and actively chatted/participated. The format will be the similar for upcoming chat events. In fact I've got one for you here for this week: CHAT EVENT: FRIDAY, JUNE 7TH @ 7PM EST: bunnychan13 : Hey everyone, I think it's time for summer fun in here. So, to celebrate the summer season, Ceilia is going to be hosting a big Capitol Pool Party. I know you all haven't seen much from her this year, but her dear friend Bonnie has convinced her to come out of hiding and rub shoulders with this year's influential peoples. You all are invited- with your Capitol Characters, or maybe an AU of your Tribute, whatever- to her place for a Capitol Chat Event on Friday June 7th at 7pm EST. Everyone who attends will receive one Sponsorship Point! Hope to see you all there!
    JUDGING:
Realism: Still one of our most important categories. Don't overpower your character or overestimate their strength/abilities. If you have so far played your character as someone who is frail and unwilling to kill, don't make them snap and randomly gore five people. Your character might get injured. Character development is important; being realistic to the environment and your own established oc. There are guidelines available everywhere for what the Arena looks like, and attention to detail is important. The mods are always on hand to listen to questions too. Continuity: Make sure you read the Round 1 summary and go according to that as canon. Don't have your character with someone who died in R1, don't give them weapons they did not get, and be mindful of what happened to your targets/allies in R1 too so you can write them accordingly. If something happened in the R1 summary that contradicts your entry (eg, an ally dying when you wrote yourself meeting up with them after the round) there is no need to edit your R1 entry, just write the edited canon into your R2 entry. Character Development/Story: This should just be another consistent, logical development from your previous entries. Emotional depth is good to see in entries. Work up how your character got the guts to kill someone or something, how they felt, how they worked through it. Your story should be interesting! Tug at our heartstrings. Creativity: Show us some cool moves! The Games have just begun. Everyone is watching. Our judges will delight in reviewing entries that are engaging and show your character's skill to it's full potential. :bulletred:DUE: JULY 3RD AT 11:59 PM PST:bulletred:
